This is a 1960 four door Corvair 700
with an 80Hp, with an automatic transmission.
The car has 63,000 original miles. Mechanical updates include four Michilen tires, new shocks, ball joints (upper and lower) idler arm, pittman arm bushing, alignment, 4 wheel cylinders and brake hoses, in-line fuel filter from gas tank.
Engine and transmission are in top condition! Rebuilt carburetors, with wires and plugs. A rebuilt 62 distributor with electronic ignition have been added along with a high output coil for sure start and reliability. The heads have been rebuilt and all related gaskets, pushrod tubs and "O" rings, pan gasket, valve covers and gaskets changed.
Does not leak or burn a drop.
Dual exhaust has been added for better engine breathing plus it sounds GREAT!
The differential has been flushed and new seals installed.
The interior needs to be redone. Although presentable the seats, headliner and carpet are all original and showing age.
I've owned and driven the car for 5 years now and it has never given me any trouble. It runs, drives and handles very well. This past November I drove it to Scarbourough, Maine for my niece's wedding averaging 27 miles per gallon. The car performed flawlessly without any problems at all. It's a fine little four door that will serve you well.
My reason for selling is I've got too many Corvair projects and it's a shame to let it just sit. Although it will for long periods of time and start every time.
I almost forgot to mention. The gas heater has been redone with new exterior components and works well. I have also installed a new battery for for added sure
starts.
