1965 Corsa Convertible Offered by CorvairGuyNJ.com
This is 1965 Corsa convertible with a 140 HP engine and four speed transmission. I purchased this car in August of 2006 and corrected many faults resulting in a good running fun car. Four new tires were immediately mounted and now have less than 4000 miles on them. Engine work included new spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and electronic ignition. To improve performance, a Clarks correct rebuilt distributor and correct linkage were added and all four carbs were disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt.
A new oil pan gasket, viton push rod tube and oil cooler o-rings eliminated all oil leaks. A Clarks rebuilt harmonic balancer and viton crank pulley seal were installed. The dual exhaust system is complete and quiet. Lastly ,a rebuilt starter was installed. New front end coil springs and shock absorbers were installed and the pitman arm bushing along with brake lines were replaced with new.
The front end has been painted with POR15. Mechanically, the car runs very well and needs exterior cosmetic attention. The interior upholstery is in good shape with no tears or rips. The carpet is good and the floors are solid. The driver side door panel needs a little attention. The roof does not leak but should be replaced in the not too distant future. The trunk is solid and is fitted with carpeting that matches the interior carpeting. The inside rockers are good but the outside rockers should be rebuilt or replaced. The body shows some amateur work that should be done over. All the lights and signals work properly. The original paint color was Cypress Green (code J2) with Medium Saddle (code 706) interior.
